How to make an online payment
We use Payfast, one of South Africa’s largest and most trusted online payment providers.
Selecting ‘Payfast‘ at checkout will give you the option to pay using Visa, Mastercard, SnapScan, Instant EFT or Masterpass.
Please note, should you elect to pay using Visa/Mastercard, that the transactions are processed using 3D secure.
We also offer a standard EFT option. Should this be your preference, please select EFT as you begin checkout.
3D Secure explained
3D Secure (or 3DS) is an added security measure for Visa and MasterCard cards issued by most South African banks.
It requires you to verify online payments using a ‘One Time PIN’ (OTP) that is sent by SMS and in some cases email.
Authentication is a simple 3 step process:
• Place your order, enter your debit or credit card information in the Payfast gateway, and click ‘Pay’.
• A 3D Secure window from your bank will open, and you will be asked to verify the transaction by entering the OTP sent to your phone.
• Once you’ve entered the correct OTP, your payment is accepted and the order is confirmed.
The online payment process
Select ‘Payfast’ at checkout
The ‘Payfast’ gateway will open and you’ll be presented with the options below. Click on your preferred payment method to proceeed.
Debit & Credit card payments
Click on the Visa/Mastercard option, and you’ll be presented with the screen below to enter your card details. Enter the details as required and click ‘PAY’
The 3D Secure window from your bank will open, and you will be asked to enter the OTP that is sent to your phone.
Each bank has its own procedure and 3D Secure window, below are 2 examples, one from ABSA and another from Standard Bank.
Once you’ve entered the correct OTP and submitted it, the payment is accepted and your order is confirmed.

Instant EFT
This payment method allows you to process an EFT payment automatically via the Payfast gateway.
From the screen below, select your bank and you’ll be linked to your bank to follow your normal online banking login, beneficiary setup, and payment process.
SnapScan
If you have a SnapScan account you can use this method via the Payfast gateway. Simply scan the QR code presented to you, or open it in the SnapScan app.
Masterpass
If you have a Masterpass account you can use this method via the Payfast gateway. Simply scan the QR code presented to you, or open it in the Masterpass app.
